Overview

Twice a year, gasoline changes underneath you. RVP transitions reshape what a terminal can sell, what a pipeline will accept, and which barrels clear. The rules come from different places at once: federal and state regulations, county programs, pipeline specifications, and the occasional emergency waiver. Calendar resolves all of it into one answer: the ceiling that actually binds, for each spec, at each terminal city, on each day of the year.

Every city and spec pair renders as a timeline of ASTM volatility classes, with a lane for each authority: federal, state, county, and pipeline, plus the NYMEX benchmark for reference. Collapse a row to scan the binding schedule at a glance, or expand it to see exactly which authority sets the ceiling in every stretch of the year. Ethanol waivers ride the schedule as explicit labels, and EPA emergency waivers appear as their own lanes, surfaced for review.

Compare dozens of cities on one shared timeline: pull up a whole state, a PADD, or every city along a pipeline in one search. Every view is a deep link you can drop into a chat or an email, and the same schedule appears inside Atlas on every terminal's detail page.

Key information

Use cases

  • Supply and blending teams plan seasonal transitions city by city, seeing exactly when each market steps down to summer spec and back.
  • Traders time the RVP switchover: the spread between cities that transition on different schedules is a trade, and Calendar shows the schedule.
  • Schedulers check what a pipeline will accept along its entire route before nominating, with pipeline spec lanes side by side with the regulatory caps.
  • Compliance and quality teams verify which authority binds at any date, and whether an active waiver changes the answer.

Benefits

  • One binding answer: Calendar computes the effective ceiling as the day by day minimum across every regulatory and pipeline lane. You see the result and the reasoning.
  • Waivers made explicit: the +1.0 psi E10 allowance appears as a visible label and emergency waivers get their own lanes, so every displayed value can be traced to its authority.
  • Built for comparison: up to 40 cities on one shared axis with a single cursor. Scan a whole pipeline or PADD the way you'd scan one city.
  • Every view is a link: the URL carries the whole view, so a schedule you build is a schedule you can share.
