Overview

Most fuel buyers settle contracts against an index they must pay a market data vendor to read. The Rack Price Report puts an independent alternative in your inbox: a twice daily PDF report of Mills Assessed Rack Clearing (MARC) Price assessments for each product specification, organized by rack terminal city.

Each edition prints every assessment for the covered geography: MARC assessments by city and spec, with select Mills spot market assessments alongside for reference. The morning edition captures the market as it opens; the evening edition captures where it settled.

The report arrives as a PDF built for printing and a plain text version built for parsing, and the methodology behind every number is published openly.

Key information

Use cases

A fair and accessible price reference

Retailers and commercial end users need to verify that a delivered fuel invoice matches the contract by pricing each load against the index the contract is written to, in order to protect themselves on multi-year fleet, municipal, and ag supply agreements. However, legacy index providers, usually chosen by the supplier, require fuel buyers to purchase their own market data license just to audit their own invoices.

The Mills Rack Price Report is free for verified retailers, commercial end users, and jobbers who become Mills Mainline Network (MMN) members. It offers an independent, transparent price settlement index that can be referenced directly in fuel purchases and supply contracts, without hefty market data vendor fees.

Benefits

  • An independent settlement index: reference MARC directly in fuel purchase and supply contracts as the settlement index.
  • Free for MMN members: verified retailers, commercial end users, and jobbers in the Mills Mainline Network receive the report at no cost.
  • Two editions daily: the morning edition frames the day; the evening edition settles it.
  • Transparent methodology: every assessment is backed by the openly published Mills methodology.
